The Challenge

So, I was challenged by the VE (Visual Ensemble) girls of the Band to do something special to help us raise the $150,000 we need to go on the trip. I thought...well I can't shave my head if we raise the money because the hair is gone already...how about grow a beard? Why grow a beard? I like to keep a neat goatee, but I can't stand the beard growth especially on my neck.

Now it's on. Here's a picture of me before and with each post you will be able to see the growth. Please, please help to raise the full amount we need because I'd really like to shave before I chaperone the trip.

Who is this guy?

I never properly introduced myself - I'm Wayne King, President of the Windsor High School Music Boosters of Windsor, Colorado, father to Ashlea and Zack and hopefully friend to many. I've been volunteering in many different ways with the Music Department of WHS since my daughter was a freshman (she's a junior now) but mainly with the Marching Band. This year I was elected to serve as President and I will faithfully fullfill my position until 2010 when it will be time coax...I mean elect...a new Board. (I joke because I love)

Windsor High School Marching Band Invited to Washington D.C.

Hi everyone and welcome to the first post on my blog. If you haven't heard by now - WHS Marching Band from Windsor, Colorado has been invited to perform in the Presidential Inaugural Parade on January 20, 2009 in Washington D.C.! This is a hugh honor and the students are stoked.
