Where did the time go?

I can't believe that it's already been two weeks since the Inauguration! Yesterday we were presented with a check from the Windsor Now newspaper - awesome. It's such a good feeling to know that the community is supporting you so much that you can raise money after the event.

Way to go Windsor community - we are as proud of you as you are of the band.

It's been a while...

I promise to write more and get pictures, etc. up. For now though - I did do a little trimming on the beard. I figure we must be close to our goal, right? One more fundraiser, the Community Dinner, and then we will count it all up. :-)

Meeting the Governor

Here's Ashlea with Colorado Governor Bill Ritter at one of the practices in Maryland. Gov. & Mrs. Ritter were very kind and spent time with each band member, chaperone and parent.

Getting it together

Back home....I have crashed and burned. I am having a hard time focusing. It was all worth it though. I will be gathering my thoughts, pictures and videos and posting them soon.

Where have we been?

As you can tell, I haven't been able to blog since Saturday. We are all doing fine just extremely busy...imagine that! We've just returned from morning practice where we were honored by a visit from Gov. & Mrs. Ritter! The Ritter's were very excited for the opportunity that the band has to perform in the parade and they are proud to have us represent the great state of Colorado. Both the Gov. and Mrs. Ritter took the time to personally meet with each student and take photos. The Rocky Mountain News, Denver Post and Fox 31 were all on hand to document this moment, so you may see press about it soon.

Earlier this morning...and I mean EARLY (we woke up at 4:30am), we had the great priviledge of performing for a national audience on the CBS Early Show. The students were cold, but they all persevered and welcomed the warm comfort of the busses afterward.

That's all for now. I will try to write more soon.

At the airport

Well, we arrived at Denver International and we made it through checking bags, security and the really fast train. So now it's time to have a little lunch and wait to board. Whew.....we are ALL on our way.
